Just because I am bored at work today... I will hazard my guess:
I think that the high-end comic lithograph market is very select... you wont see your local comic shop ordering 2 or 3 of these giclees or canvas... you would find them through select retailers like HFA... so I dont see why they would have a problem releasing 1/3 to one retailer... most likely... I would think that Retailer in New York is Wizard... just a guess... but I could see them putting this on their website and selling out... of course... I could be totally wrong...

Actually very very very few LCS' carry giclees... I think they are just too expensive for them to keep in stock...

I think you should get a chain for your GB and hang it around your neck... wearing it proudly...

I wouldn't have allowed it (selling the 1/3 right off the bat), but it happens sometimes. Not my choice or decision...it is the Publishers. They want money too!

A GB just sold for $245 on eBay so it's still getting some coin.

I hate when they reuse art from a magazine and then sell it as an art piece. I think it cheapens it. If you are spending $875 at least they can do is make a new piece and make it exclusive. I don't like these cheap copies floating around. I mean I can look at this everyday it's in the back seat of my car. I agree it's a nice piece but I don't like that it's been used before.

We've gone down this path before. IMO, no different than creating an original sculpt and then casting 2000 of them and selling them.

So you would be pretty torked if Marvel issued a lithograph of the cover of Spider-Woman 1... It happens all the time in the comics industry... Covers are turned into Lithos... Pages of comics are turned into Giclees...
