Forget NASA the real waste of money is prisoners.
Look no further than Jared Lee Loughner or how about Charles Manson?
For all you football fans Jerry Sandusky in the house.
Any reason any of these guys still breathing?
At least good comes from NASA I bet nobody can say the same about these guys.

It makes me sick that I have to pay taxes while these guys don't have to worry about anything anymore.
People think prison is a hard life a never ending episode of OZ but that's not always the case.
Look up Richard Speck
On November 21, 1972, in Peoria, Judge Richard Fitzgerald re-sentenced Speck from 400 to 1,200 years in prison (8 consecutive sentences of 50 to 150 years)
He said while in prison "If they only knew how much fun I was having, they'd turn me loose."

They'll get some stunning clear color panoramas in time.
They are still slowly carefully bringing systems online.

Heatshield seperation!

The world would be a much better place if the death penalty was a standard sentence for serious crimes.

I'm all for space exploration. We might need a refuge for when the Earth dies. Going to Mars is a good start.

i was thinking about this today. whats the point of going to a planet within our solar system? to validate if there was life? i think anyone who thinks there isnt/wasnt life on any other planet, whether within our SS or another, is a fool. why aim for the closest planet? i mean, really. mars is a desolate wasteland. maybe it once had ice caps or water where life existed, but what does that really mean? as fascinating as it was to see NASA execute their landing and plan everything perfectly, i really dont get it. i think space is a dead end until we can develop the ability to travel at the speed of light.
