Photographing Batman & Catwoman with iPad Lighting Setup

hey guys , I bought my first hottoys of Batman and Catwoman last month to take some photos for fun.
Here are some test images I made to visualize my ideas.
I figured that using tablet as softbox light is pretty nice, shadow is soft and I can easily control the brightness and color of the light. Most background were displayed from the monitor, saving much time during post-production and I can pump up some light bleeding to the character from the illuminated background.

Cam: A7R
Lens: FE 24-70mm , E 30mm macro

I deliberately attempted to pump up the ISO on some shots, allowing some extra noise to emulate the movie film

In all honesty, its a very cool idea, but the lighting from the tablet is really whats hurting them the most. If you invested in a couple Lowel i-Lights or a Lowel Blender, you could make these look a million times better. They really arent that expensive and can be found on eBay a lot of times for pretty cheap. The lighting on the statues just looks flat. Also you should think about making some mini reflectors. This image is the perfect example

Had you bounced some light into the left side of her face, it would have looked much nicer. As is, it just goes black and you cant even see her eye or her mask. They can easily be made by buying some foam core and cutting it down to size. You really don't even need to bouce light into them alot of times. Just sticking a white piece of foam core just out of frame by the dark side of her face will bouce some light in there.

All in all a very cool idea, one that could be taken a LOT farther quality wise with just a few purchases. If your this interested in doing pictures like this, I highly recommend doing so. You wont regret it.
