Robert Goulet Dead At 73

Robert Goulet, the handsome, big-voiced baritone whose Broadway debut in "Camelot" launched an award-winning stage and recording career, has died. He was 73.

The singer died Tuesday morning in a Los Angeles hospital while awaiting a lung transplant, a Goulet spokesman said in an e-mail.

He had been awaiting a lung transplant at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after being found last month to have a rare form of pulmonary fibrosis.

Sad, he was just on Howard Stern not too long ago.

The guy had a great voice, and he was one of those ubiquitous TV guest stars of the '70s - 'early 80s.

Will Ferrell's impersonation of him on SNL was hilarious.

He's also a holiday regular, he's at the beginning or "Scrooged" w/ Bill Murray.

I actually never heard of him, but I will never forget Will Ferrel in that skit. Priceless.

Sadly, that's what I know him best from. Seem to be losing a lot of entertainers this year.

I have a lot of Bob Goulet's records on vinyl. I'll miss knowing he's out there doing what he does. He was another singer of The Great American Song Book who's now left the stage. I always admired how, in his later years, he was able to laugh at himself along w/ others. This never took away the fact that the man had a tremendously strong and completely original voice. I sure do hope Broadway dimmed it's lights for this Man. Not many of the "old-schoolers left now. I raise my glass.
