Avatar sequels announced

Just heard on the news that James Cameron has announced he will be writing 2 sequels to Avatar.

Hope he aspires to something better than a mediocre story.

Wouldn't it be cool if the sequels are better? So rare that it happens.

Thought the movie was okay - not sure it deserves a sequel...

Cameron is the man! I welcome a zillion sequels to anything he's done as long as he writes and directs.

I'm not sure a sequel's really "necessary".. we all saw where the story was going when the first one ended.

Much like "The Matrix 2 & 3" weren't necessary. Sure, they were fun to some degree.. but the first film was enough; the second and third only served to tarnish the brilliance of the first.

With a gross of $2.8 billion there was only going to be one outcome. It will be interesting to see what he comes up with. His sequel to the Alien and Terminator franchise was generally considered a success.

I say take the story someone that explains why the humans are so desperate for unobtainium and why it sells for a million dollars a kilo. what kind of events or society could possibly generate that kind of demand?

James Cameron Talks AVATAR 2, 3, Even AVATAR 4; Says He Now Only Wants to Make AVATAR Movies
Guess he's taking the George Lucas route.

Maybe unobtanium is the only substance in the universe that can be used to raise the Titanic.
