I try to maximize the use of the airbrush. The surfaces come up smother and the fading areas come just great. I'm also a collector of Games-workshop kind of miniatures so I try to resist the urge to use the brush when I see that an airbrush can do a better job.

Not necessarily. You can get products from Liquitex that slow the drying time of acrylics and make them easier to blend on the surface of the model (kind of like oil paints). I've seen incredible paint jobs that were done with this method.

An airbrush can really speed up your work though--it's worth getting one and learning how to use it.

I don't use airbrush on a lot of my work that I do. I try to avoid it when possible because I hate taping/masking parts that doesn't get paint and afterwards I need to use the brush anyways to clean up the boarders. All three of the She Hulk conversions to Wonder Woman, Ms.Marvel and Black Canary have ZERO airbrush on them. But airbrush does have its advantages that it would be near impossible or impossible for brush to do.

Vallejo Game Colors.

Danno recommended them earlier, but rather than buying a few at a time, I opted to get a whole set which was on on ebay ... now as I use them I'll just replace what I use.

they are more dull greens, greys, khakis basicly colors for building army figures and tanks and that sort of thing. But between the 2 sets there is alot to choose from. I painted up those Thanos statues with the game colors exclusively.
