cannot read deathtroopers yet since it will not be out until october 2009 .

I read the star wars books and have just about all of them except the kids ones for the young jedi academey. they are by most part very good and Lucas keeps everything on track and it all goes together with everything including the comics that dark horse does.

Overall, I think the books are pretty good with many more hits than misses. My favorites were the Timothy Zahn books. The New Jedi Order series was pretty good. However, their latest series, Legacy of the Force was really a joyless read, IMO.

I've wanted to read these, but I have to figure out a starting point. They seem to be like the Dragonlance books jumping around chronologically.

I was real into the book but got lost with the timelines.

I enjoyed the x-wing books and I Jedi was a good read.

But that was years ago
