As a music fan it has been fascinating that bands I listen to these days only release albums on vinyl records. The market for cassette and compact disc isn't there, but collector fans like having that tangible item in this age of streaming dominance.

Believe it or not. I think this is the best for all of us! CD and DVD are limited on their quality limits and size limits and also can be damaged very easy, in digital world none of this exist...
Buy a HD Passport for all ur collection. Look how much space u safe and it never jeopardize its originality quality.

But like everything when u have + you have to have - .
so owning a digital is owning nothing! look at "meta" lol You can't sell or ever touch it...basically an illusion. Like our lives...a dream!

I'm a genre' collector. I happen to just adore earlier, often B&W sci-fi & horror movies & probably have more than 800 on DVD & Blu-ray. There's nothing I enjoy more than going down to my library, especially this month, & peruse my collection for what to watch on any given night. Many of my films cannot be found on my firestick. I like the cover art, the pack-panel descriptions, the extras, etc... So many fun choices displayed. I buy maybe one or two a month, usually from amazon. I've joined many on-line genre' specific groups & still learn about old horror & sci-fi I'd never heard of. I even have a couple boxed up DVD/Blu-ray players for the future.

This is sad news ...as I am one of those collectors that will buy the physical media for the movies I really like. Even if I can watch the movies in streaming services, I still get the physical copy.

There have been times where I have wanted to watch an old movie which I used to own a physical copy of, but I just cannot find it on streaming, or cannot find it without having to rent it. It's these times when I wish I hadn't cleared out my old dvds/blu-rays.

Then there are those times where we've wanted to redecorate/have a move round/moved house and I've been totally glad that I got rid of them all...

Physical media is great. I couldn’t get the same enjoyment out of stuff if I couldn’t own it. Best Buy has been slowly destroying their media section so this isn’t a surprise. Hopefully people continue to develop physical stuff.

I didn't know they still made DVDs. I switched to blu-ray way back in 2007. I even had some HD DVDs lol.
