Are you referring to the training outfit 1/6th? I have that one and it's really nice.

I personally thought the original prototype looked a lot more like her and this one doesnt seem to look like her at all, obviously people should buy it if they personally like it though.
One reason that probably made a drastic change is they removed the lines on her face that run on the outside of her nose to her mouth and below, nothing wrong with her or them but they are a prominent feature on Gal and make her who she is. Her cheekbones are rounder in the newer one and not as prominent on the outside like Gal and her lower lip cuts off drastically at the corners and Gals is prettt symmetrical until the end.

Sideshow's record for actors likenesses is not the best. Why do people continue to expect Hot Toys levels of accuracy on a Sideshow polystone piece?

Because they're made relatively the same. Prototypes are made out of clay or wax once the design is approved they make silicone and pvc molds to put the medium in. Only difference is material while Hot toys uses a softer silicone, Polystone is a resin made out of epoxy and sand or a dust of their choosing.

Darn, I was thinking about getting this but the head change looks worse sadly. Are these changes or updates? Maybe they couldn't get the rights to use Gal's likeness?

Sideshow actually tried to improve the likeness but like you, I feel that the changes make it look less like Gadot than the proto.

Oh well there's always the Wonder Woman movie version hopefully since this is the BatmanVSSuperman version. Is this head sculpt approved do you know or is it still in the approval stage?

I meant when you said you're sticking with DC the DC made training outfit is nice, the Prime 1 one is nice but I have absolutely no room for a 1/3.

I dunno, but I'm beginning to give up on there being a production piece that looks like Gal Gadot. James Marsano's DC statues looked pretty good as protos, but the mass-production pieces weren't as good as the protos.
I decided to get only Funko versions of Gal Gadot for the time being, lol.

Because other companies can do outstanding likeness with polystone.
Iron Studios
Tweeterhead
Prime 1
to name a few.

...but it is not Sideshow's forte. I never got the impression that its an area they have improved upon even incrementally throughout the years.
They have had guys like Trevor Grove do amazing prototype sculpts but their production sculpts are consistently mediocre for the most part.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Likeness is definitely there, not perfect but reasonable.
