Heard thie PHoenix Saga rumor months ago. What SR calls "news" is the Supernova name. Phoenix Saga is a decent idea, but as long as Fox reboots the X-Men. Nees to be a completely new cast and set in the present. No more of the decade jumping with none of the characters really aging. Plus Deadpool is set in the present and they need to bring everything together.

Well, Singer did set a precedence with the 60s, 70s, and 80's, so one can assume the next sequel should be in the 90s?

Yes it was, WKTF.

I HATE the fact they are going to jump straight to Dark Phoenix. The actual Phoenix saga with the M'Kraan Crysal is fun and great. It makes no sense that viewers would not get a solid backstory and the lead into the decent into madness that is Dark Phoenix. And why are they going to have KIDS fight one of the most powerful cosmic entities known to the world?

This sounds like another bubble gum and shoe string attempt at bringing a great X-Men story to the screen. Shame that it will be destroyed because it's crammed into one film. It's even more frustrating because Fox has the rights to the Shiarr Empire.

Jesus I wish Disney would/could rescue this franchise like they have with Spider-Man.

I've liked the X-Men movies, but they always slightly miss the mark. But at this point it is blatantly obvious Fox is way more interested in trying to make money opposed to what fans want. Like sell the rights to the X-men to Disney for 500 million. They get a truckload of money, which is pocket change to Disney, and fans will get what they want.

I consider all the X-Men movies one-and-done viewings and expect this one to be no different.

I think this is all still speculation. It seems strange that they would try to tackle something as ambitious as the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix coming off the tepid performance of X-Men Apocalypse. I don't know if this is supposed to be a reboot, next chapter or what. Whether they will use the new cast and if Fassbender and McAvoy are coming back. Hopefully not Lawrence because I am so tired of Mystique being shoehorned in. I thought that they had finally kicked Singer to the curb but he's now creeping around the upcoming TV series. He'll probably horn in if there actually is a movie.
