Tom Hardy apparently has the role to play Venom.

Sony is lucky to have signed Tom Hardy, as he is a phenomenal actor with an impressive resume behind him.

What I'm not so sure about is the director Ruben Fleischer whose previous work was Zombieland and Netflix’s “Santa Clarita Diet? And from the writer of Jumanji?!

Producer Avi Arad really is desperate to cash in on the Spidey franchise.

Great casting. I'm happy for Venom fans, unfortunately I'm not one of them and selfishly speaking wish Hardy would've been cast in another comic book movie as he's one of my favorite actors working today and he could play a lot of great characters.

I guess Venom will be a dark comedy.

FYI... both were great!

I'm there with you and I'm a Venom fan. It's great they got him and all, but I think he might be wasted on this one. Maybe if it flops he'll find a different role.

Apparently this film will have nothing to do with Spider-Man now that the character has been incorporated into the MCU. I find this hilarious. Let's take an already shallow character in Venom and strip him of his most interesting characteristic. So I guess we'll just ignore the Spider-Man logo on his chest? What a joke!

I have a bad feeling about this...

Anyone remeber WB's Catwoman ? It was a similar move by WB, they took Catwoman out of Batman and made her own film with Halle Barry and it was a total disaster.... I hope Venom won't turn out like that.
