1,2, and 4 will never be beat. I liked this one a lot and Michael is just as creepy as ever but it wasn't that scary. I enjoyed it though for what it was.

Solid movie. Hope for a sequel as they have planned.
This one is what Halloween has always been.

I like about all the movies except for 6 and enjoy the Jamie Lee Curtis parts of H20 and Resurrection.

This is no nonsense Halloween. After the first none of them can really be scary because the initial shock factor is gone.

Gonna see it at least twice more this weekend in the theater.

And it really is a remake/revision of 2 right down to the ham sandwich.

As a long time fan of the original, and carpenters entire filmography, I would give this a solid 7/10. I was hoping I give it a 10/10 but there were just too many choices that didn't work for me ; comedic moments when there shouldn't be; story decisions that make absolutely no effect on the movie. I will give the movie score 10/10 though, as that did not disappoint.

And as others have said, I prefer the original Halloween 2 more. I also prefer Lauries final showdown with Michael in H20, than this one.

I think people have always given the sequels a hard time for their humor. The original had TONS of bad jokes.

It's interesting to watch the original all the way to this as a commentary on how society wishes to present itself. People are so crude now!

Oh and the girl at the dance is metal melting hot.

I just found it awful.
The two foreign accent bloggers seemed very out of place.
The teen characters, family, and kids were really bad. You didn’t care for any of them. Too much forced comedy.
Jamie Lee Curtis was good of course but didn’t care for her story at all.
Michael has some moments but it just wasn’t scary. It was missing a good atmosphere and suspense.
The dialogue was bad, especially with the police officers.
The whole movie just didn’t take itself serious enough for me overall. Plus it was just boring for the first hour.
Not a fan. It wasn’t Last Jedi or Crystal Skull bad but it was Alien Covenant bad. Lol

There's comedy that falls flat, like in the original, and then there's comedy which occurs during moments that there shouldn't be, like this film. The first way i can overlook but The second is representative of this film on many occasions.

I enjoyed it as well overall. There were a few parts throughout that I didn't think fit well with the story. Definitely can draw a lot of parallels and nods to the others in the franchise.
The score was great.

7/10
