I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

About "The Shining" discussion, I'm a pretty big fan of both the book and the movie. That being said, Kubrick didn't care for a very literal adaptation of the original material and that's okay in my opinion, since he definitely understood the different characteristics of both medias. The movie is very vague and gives space for different interpretations, creating many iconic scenes. In my opinion, it's by far one of the greatest horror movies of all time.

"Dr Sleep" I found to be a good but not great film. Looks far more generic and relies on some modern horror visuals and cliches, unable to create an unnerving atmosphere. Aesthetically looks far more like the new "It" movies than "The Shining".

It's an ambitious task that could never meet up with the expectations, like "2010" tried before.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Dolor y gloria / Pain & Glory (2019) - A film director reflects on the choices he's made in life as past and present come crashing down around him.

The latest Almodóvar film was not at all on my radar so my initial interest in it was very low, but I found it afterward to be one of the director's most satisfying movies. In particular I loved the big reveal at the end. 9/10

The Good Liar (2019) - Consummate con man Roy Courtnay has set his sights on his latest mark: the recently widowed Betty McLeish, worth millions. But this time, what should have been a simple swindle escalates into a cat-and-mouse game with the ultimate stakes.

It was clear from the start that Helen Mirren's character was not the naive widow she appeared to be. It was just a matter of waiting until the end to find out why. 6/10
