I'd like the helmet to be removable too. It's too bad you can't include an owl, as it's definitely one of the things that sets Athena apart, but I understand that it may be distracting. Perhaps the gorgon image on the shield can be more detailed? Also--and this is my own preference and maybe I'm the only one who feels this way--but I prefer female statues to be barefoot.

Thanks for the reply! That's unfortunate but I understand your reasoning. I still wish her owl could be included in some subtle way though. It's just such an iconic part of her myth.
Something else I noticed later was the position of Athena's feet. They seem to suggest she's wearing heels. I don't know but it just looks awkward to me. I think I recall Hera's feet had a similar pose but it looked more natural like she was in a walking motion. To me, Athena looks to be in more of a standing position. Shouldn't her feet be resting flat? Or if she is supposed to be stepping up onto the rock, maybe have at least one of her feet resting flat?
Thank you for sharing your design so far and I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Yes I too think one foot should be resting flat.

I think he is doing that to get the calves to pop like high heels do.

I can understand if he wants to accentuate her calf muscles but without the actual heels being there, I can't see any reason why she would be standing on the balls of her feet like that. I mean who stands like that? Even if she was in a walking/climbing motion, the arches of her feet are way too elevated. It just looks awkward and uncomfortable to me. Not that I want heels to be on her by any means. I just think it would look more natural if her trailing foot were in a resting position because that leg is straight and then lower the arch on the front foot a bit.

Hey guys, I'm glad you guys are looking at her feet=). I've always found the legs and the arching of the foot to be extremely erotic. That's why I love pinup art, they all have the classical poses with the legs and feet. I'm sure you guys are familiar with Gil Elvgren. That's the style I love. Whether or not they're on heels, the foot is arched. I don't think I'll ever make a statue without that=).
You guys probably have collected the DC Bombshell series. Very popular series and personally I love that style. The statues are a little too cartoony for my taste but the pose and the legs really sexy. Lots of sex appeal.
Anyhow, that's why the feet are that way. Again, it's all about the legs. Okay, and the boobs too, but legs position tends to be my major focus.
Thanks, -Wei

I know for you its all about the sexyness and erotic, And I figured your doing your own interpretations of the gods, but I feel with Athena this line is straying away from the traditional looks. When I look at her it doesn't say Athena Greek god. Just some female warrior.
