Flankster177 nails it!
I mostly agree with him, but he is being very generous with that 80% likeness

As a JND fan (own 1 piece with another on PO) - they really need to cool their jets with the marketing hype.

Yeah. At this point, the overbearing hype invites more backlash than the pieces might otherwise get.

Like everything before it, there are angles where the likeness is sharper and stronger, and other angles where it is less pronounced.

But to say this looks nothing like Tyler? Good grief.

I still think it's a lovely piece overall.
It looks like they got her thinner, somewhat rail-like physique at that age. The body attitude is great for the vibe this is supposed to be projecting. The hair looks to be about the best implemented yet for this company's product.

At this point the brand has fully developed a cachet that transcends the minor % deficiencies in likeness, IMO. Meaning, the nits people pick with the likenesses aren't likely to have much of an impact on sales. While that's been the impression for a while, I think it's entrenched now.

People often complain about JND portraits having elongated faces.. I think this one is the opposite. Her face looks a bit too puffy compared to Livs. She has a long thin face.

Also has " mean" eyes. Looks like she glaring.

I'm a fan of the actress. Like Carla Gugino, acting gives Liv plenty of free time to do what she likes doing most, charity.
She spends alot of time in soup kitchens.

I like it way better than their last effort.

Both Hathaway and Tyler have long, rectangular head shapes, with large, full lips, and similar "T"s (eye, nose, mouth orientation/proportions).

The sculptor here may have taken all the (IMO, unwarranted) criticism of the Hathaway portrait and been inhibited from following her natural inclinations with this one.
