Robert Kirkman - Outcast

Anyone catch the first episode?

I thought it was very good. The series looks promising.

I plan on watching it but don't like watching shows on my computer so I'll wait until it actually premieres.

I've watched the first three or four episodes and I'm enjoying it but it's similar to Preacher in that the story progression is slow going. I feel like it needs to kick into gear and it will be good, but so far it's ok. I think the first episode has been the best, and now it's been spinning its wheels.

Anyone else?

I'm 8 episodes in and am really enjoying it. The storyline has taken a few interesting turns. Might have to pick up the comics...

It turned out to be a decent first season, that ninth episode twist was pretty rough.

Indeed!

I finished the first season this weekend and was impressed. The show puts a nice twist on the old "demonic possession" cliché, presenting some interesting angles I'd never considered.

I really enjoyed Brent Spiner as Sidney. I always have a difficult time separating him from Lt. Commander Data, but his performance here did the trick.

SPOILER....

The revelation in the season finale involving Kyle's daughter was great, and I loved the final scene at the gas station.

Totally agree! Spiner was a great villain surprisingly, or not, he is a great actor after all.

The set up for S2 was a great and creepy scene. Looking forward to S2 next year.

Just finished this series and even though it started off slow and hit a few dead spots approaching mid-season it really picked up redeeming itself by the S1 conclusion. I really love the atmosphere of the series and the intro is one of my favorites from any series currently running. The score by Atticus Ross is brilliant & haunting.

I had also felt that it started off slow after the first episode but just after the half way point things began picking up. Looking forward to S2 and seeing where the story goes. I totally agree with you about the score, really sets the tone for the series. Sometimes when the score is really good it gets forgotten because it blends in so well. This is one of those times.

Saw the first episode on HBO On Demand, loved it. Don't have Cinemax so I need to find another place to watch the rest of the series.
