I am not convinced Synder is an actors Director.
Agree with you on these points.

If you look at Snyder's previous films, rarely will you find one actor who carried his film with a brevity and range of performance.

As for Cavill's lack of personality in Superman, unfortunately I think it's just his limitation as an actor. Try watching The Man from Uncle remake and you'll see a similar lack of emotional expression.

It's all about how he looks in a suit...for which he does a fine job.

I like Cavill in the role, and I'm hoping when Superman "returns" he will have a lighter outlook on life and his responsibilities, but I'm not expecting a huge personality change.
But this is not the comics right? That is what they keep telling us. Why can't Superman have Charisma?

Wait. So now you want something added that is completely out of character?

how is it completely out of character allowing him have some charisma and not being so wooden.

Your "wait" reminded me a little of HQ's "what" in Suicide Squad.

You actually make a good point. These characters are totally separate from the comics, just "based" on them, so I guess giving Superman "charisma" would not be out of bounds.

What would a charismatic Superman be like?? Who knows, maybe we'll find out.

I'm not saying he should be like Tony Stark or arrogant. But at least Chris's version of the character had some.

This is what I imagine when we say Supes should have charisma:

It's one thing to want someone to be less "wooden" but another to want them to be charismatic. Supes simply isn't charismatic. Can someone make an adaptation with a charismatic Superman? Sure, why not. I'd be curious to see what that's like. But that isn't the persona that's aimed for in Man of Steel. Nor do I think should it be considering the themes being explored.
