I’m one of the pro-detail collectors. But I’ve got agree with Venom not needing that particular treatment. I always envisioned Venom as smooth and slimy to the touch. Like a Sting Ray I got to pet at Sea World as a kid.

youre not wrong, i personally find it bizarre no one has done something "original" at this point and made a statue that is a great representation of his first appearance. there are two customs that i know of that came close, done by the same sculptor as well but were pretty expensive. the last one was almost perfect but the best portrait was used for a transformation coh which is cool but not anything i would display

Thats true.

I’m not sure it’s a fault so much as it’s safe to say there’s obviously enough people that buy statues of the more “modern” tentacled out Venom we typically see more in fan and pin up art rather than in the actual comics, and since that works, the statue companies keep doing it. And it’s also probably more fun to sculpt for the sculptor. But that also means those of us who want a licensed “regular” comic style Venom in 1/4 have to keep going without one.

Why does nobody try a classic comic version in 1/4? Probably varies each time. Some “we just do our own version”, or “classic is boring, not enough sculpt work and details involved” or “we just don’t like old school comic Venom”. Or maybe they think it won’t sell as well, which we wouldn’t know since they don’t make one. Probably all types of reasons. Smooth no texture Venom does get smaller scale statues and toys, so who knows.

Interested to see the update.

I guess maybe we'll get a final tease September or next January.

BTW, someone on Facebook asked about a classic portrait, and Ang stated that the one pictured is what they're considering the classic head.

Ok just saw something kinda weird…was on Spec site and saw this Venom under up for pre order soon…that’s not the weird part..it says Venom Version 2…so wonder if this is because it’s the second Venom or are there more than one version of this like Maestro Hulk or Ultimate Cap to name a few.???
