They look much better than the prototypes they showed a few years ago.

They look night and day better compared to what they showed before. I'm still going to pass on them though since they're not really any more detailed than their PVC scale figures due to the aesthetic simplicity of the source material. That plus the entry plugs are major space hogs.

I like the updates and may pick up Asuka but if you have the Vertex pieces and don't mind the longer footprint there's no point to get these unless you're a diehard Rei and Asuka fan.
