Given everything that has gone on, if I were you I would ask to have it posted just to prove it actually WAS done.

Just my opinion.

IF he had anything done, it would be a huge benefit to show the finished pieces off. This will let people know progress has been made and reassure them that this isn't a complete loss. I also think it'll help people to realize they're not getting the Golden "Patience is a Virue" experience also.

Hoping this works out satisfactorily to all involved, despite the hurdles.

If this artist had common sense, he would have given the refunds rather than turn away the more lucrative work he supposedly received. Refunds would have also kept his name out of the mud.

Just read through this whole roller coaster of an unprofessional nightmare story. I really feel for everyone on here , no client should ever be put through that. I think the longest any of my clients have had to wait was two or three weeks and that was only because I was out of town and still...Got everything done and sent off. I just don't understand why he couldn't or can't snap a few pictures real quick with his phone or camera instead of writing a lengthy excuse. I feel on both parts it would save a lot of time and might give both sides at least a small amount of relief.

*sigh* It's terrible to see this happen.I greatly hope to see the work up here soon!

I have been in contact with the Kubert school of art and am likely to begin teaching a "how to" deal with moving, illnesses and family crisis to up and coming artists this fall.
