Wrath of the Titans 5/10

Had some high hopes for this one, but it was pretty disapointing...

Renaissance - wow... artistically brilliant film. Loved the character of Karas. His introduction with the boy who's held hostage was fantastic.
Great action and great characters (Farfella and Bislane especially) centered around a decent plot. The plot bumbled around a little, but ultimately it's a solid one.
Craig's vo is fantastic, though he's playing himself. If you close your eyes (I fell asleep for about 10 minutes of it), you think you're listening to a new Bond film.
Let's be honest, though.. if this was "standard animation", most of us would have passed on it.. or not enjoyed it as much as we did. I loved how the b&w aspect worked so well with the technology of future Paris.

I also enjoyed how visually you saw how the city went from the ragged slums at the base of the city to sleek, tech-laden towers at the top.

Shame on me for only recently learning of this movie (courtesy of you Momos.. thanks!).. it's been out for years.
8/10
There's no extras on the Blu-Ray! Even just a commentary would've been excellent.
This goes right up there with the original GotS release, Animatrix and the first Patlabor film as one of my favorite adult anime films.
This also reminds me that i haven't seen "A Scanner Darkly" yet, either.

Jane Eyre (2011) - 5/10

Kinda interesting movie, but I am just not a fan of the source material.

Thanks for the head's up, Scott... I'll be watchin' this once or twice a month, probably; picked up little nods to the audience on my second viewing that I didn't see on my first. I love films like that. I can't think of any immediately, though.

Whole movie's good, but I especially loved the scenes that take place in wooded areas; insane detail.

Hunger Games 7/10 Battle Royale was much more effective imo

Immortals 6/10 did absolutely nothing for me but pass some time

Rob Roy - I think I gave this a "4" before; I expected more from it, but having just watched it again last night.. it's a 5/10.

The actors all did fantastic work (I can't stand Roth in this, which means he played the part well); it's just the screenplay itself that was limiting.

Neeson was.. well, Neeson (not at his finest, though), but the exchanges between Hurt and Keir was what held my interest the most.

Gorgeous scenery, with again.. one of the best swordfights on film.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo: 7/10 Would have been higher but that rape seen was a bit excessive. It would have been just a good movie without it. Definitely had the freakiest intro I have ever seen.
