Hi Paul,

The only thing that's holding me back to pre-order the terror dog is the absence of a base...is there a particular reason why there is no thematised base included?

Will the plasma bug have a base?

thanks

I wouldn't order it, but find it also strange it lacks a base, without a base it doesn't seem like a high-end prop replica, but rather like a toy you just put somewhere ...

Yes,that's my concern aswell...with a base it looks 'finished'.

This piece is almost 24" long and we had planned to do the Gozer door as the base, but the base alone cost as much as the dog due to it's huge size. The base would have been 18" wide and almost 30" long, just to big for most collectors. The plaque stand will match other in the series.

Well, I just caved and ordered the signature version. Just too cool considering it's lineage. And at 24" this is almost as big as my real dog

I'm not overly concerned about the lack of a base. Might look at standing him on a suitable piece of marble or slate or something

That is what I am thinking as well, paint on resin can chip very easily, so having a major part of the piece touching/rubbing is a bit worrysome. There are some pretty big wood bases at hobby/craft shops that would probably work, just sand it down and paint it black. Probably cost less than $20.

Yeah. Even some stiff foam or painted balsa would look good and could even carve a little bit of Shandor architecture into it ?
