I, too, saw this on Facebook. Shudder with fear. There are at least three XM statues that got busted -- Phoenix, Magneto, and you can see IM Mark VII lost his head.

I think I see a SS Gambit amongst the carnage. Ugh.

Some humor can be found that Ghost Rider survived. kinda like he exacted revenge....

Edit: XM Black Widow and Doctor Strange also met their demise. RIP

Have you ever imagined a world with no hypothetical situations?

Impressive, although the IKEA website states: Max load/shelf: 8 lb

I keep my Detolf's covered with a dust sheet to keep dust off and sunlight out.

Given the sole purpose of a Detolf unit is display, Ikea could have added something to the design to make the door seal.
For the moment, they offer the best unit for the price

I own 5 at the moment. 4 in a line, and a 5th on another wall. Soon i will need a sixth.
For 1/4 scale statues, extra work is required. I picked up some metal U-clamps and had thicker glass shelfs made.
So cool - as I am clueless, could you be more specific on what you used (and where you got them), to stagger the shelves? I am currently staring at a bank of 7 Detolfs, and would love that kind of flexibility.

Thanks!

Good to know in that case I don't feel bad for having no cabinets since there's really no difference. Come on dust! Fill my statues!

The metal clamps are Saddle Clamps size M6. They can be found online (Amazon, ebay etc.) You will need 4 per shelf.
I went for Stainless Steel (likes those in the image) as they look more polished than some of the rougher clamps on offer.
If you have a large wallet, some companies offer chrome saddle clamps.

Each clamps comes with 2 bolts. I found the need to buy extra bolts, as 2 bolts are required to tighten the clamp. The other 2 bolts cam be added to give the glass shelf something to sit on.

To replace the glass, simply take one of the shelfs that come with the unit to your local glass cutter, and ask them to copy the size, using thicker glass, and tell then what the glass is for, and make sure they polish the edges.

One final thing. I found it impossible to set the height of all 4 saddle clamps identically. The glass shelf would rock slightly.
To take up any slack, and add a cushion effect, i found some round stick-on sponge pads, and placed one in each corner. I found these in a local store.

I'm thinking about how-to make a frame for the front to block out dust.
