Had some free time away from the kids ...hallelujah
Pulled out some of my art collection from the closet (none of my stuff are hung up yet). Thought this might be useful for newbie Sideshow art collectors. Gives you a better idea of the differences between 1. Framed Canvas Prints vs 2. Framed Giclee Paper Prints vs 3. HD Aluminum.

If I had unlimited funds I would pick canvas or HD aluminum each time. The larger image size and smaller real estate is nice. You can also display them without glass/plexiglass over the art. I think Sideshow does a pretty good job picking what type of art gets what treatment. Art that looks more traditional and has a painted look = canvas. Art that looks more digital and colorful = HD aluminum. Unfortunately, the 300+ price tag is a tough pill to swallow (yes you don't need to frame them but that is like half the cost of a statue)..

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I agree, after I got my first canvas print about four years ago, I haven't gotten any paper prints since, just canvas and HD aluminum. It helps that I'm fairly picky about the prints I get. I also agree that Sideshow does a good job of deciding which prints get canvas or aluminum options...pricey but worth it.

Doesn't what you do with them make a difference though? If you have a folio of prints, you'd only buy canvas for wall hanging, right?

Oh for sure, it's a good point, always on the wall for me. I've briefly considered collecting prints to store in a portfolio case or something, but if I like a print enough to buy it, I definitely want to display it. And I imagine I'll get some more paper prints down the line, it just hasn't happened in a while.

I buy art with the intention to have them on the wall someday. Hasn?t worked out though as all of them are in a closet or portfolio 😂

Mine was like that too. Until last year! And now. I just can?t stop hanging up stuff. I have a stairway-probably my favorite display area. It is all Horror and Halloween dedicated. And honestly I wonder why it took me so long.
