ToysRus is such a huge ripoff. I've noticed all their stuff a are marked up. I'm trying to use one of their 15% of coupon on the new Lego Mindstorms EV3 set. Their site listed $350, but $400 in store. They tell me I can either do pricematch or use the coupon. Even the Lego store retails it for $350. Nobody seeks it above the retail price besides EBay.

Yeah, don't ever go shopping for Lego at TRU.

I'm a member of Lego's VIP Club which gives you rewards once you hit a certain amount at the Lego store, I think it's $5 for every $100 you spend. I also recommend those Entertainment coupon books. They have coupons in them for $5, $10, and $20 off at the Lego stores. I'm saving my points and coupons for the Lego Haunted Mansion.

Guys, honestly, there's no way to get cheap Legos. They're all expensive.

Of course they're all expensive. That doesn't mean you shouldn't find the best deal when possible. Avoiding over priced retailers like TRU is a good start.

i totally agree. ive noticed over the past few years, that even the smaller sets that used to be $10-$15 are now $15-$25. the $100 sets are now $150. my LCS went through a phase where some collector who had bought a bunch of sets, brought them in to sell. im sure my LCS bought them for pennies on the dollar, but, i bought every last one of them. those sets were cheap. they were all partially built, had boxes and directions, and were in great shape. if i remember correctly, there were some of the SW Ultimate Collection ships in there along with a bunch of early SW and HP stuff. those are the kind of deals you have to find.

I have found that waiting for the Target sales is the best bang for the buck. For example, Targer recently had 20% most sets. And you get another 5% off the top if you use your Red Card. I got my nephew 16 sets for his birthday and 16 sets for my son for Christmas. Total savings was about $150.

TRU increases the prices on their legos whenever they have a sale.

I just took my own advice and ordered the Lego Minecraft sets and the Delorean from Traget. Went through UPromise so get 5% back and used redcard for 5% off.
