HBO MAX 2021 IS WHERE ITS AT.
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/am...x-and-theaters.
All new 17 new movies will premiere there next year. Also they got rid of the free trial.

Hopefully they don't raise their price.

The big thing is the movies will be thirty days and then gone. So, on one hand these are huge releases, on the other you cannot swoop in a year from now and binge them.
I get the strategy, enough content to make unsubscribing and resubscribing a pain so HBO Max becomes a fixture alongside Netflix.
I need to see what else they have outside of these movies as WW84 made me go from indifferent to closely looking into paying for it.

I hope they don't raise the price either. Or maybe if its built into a cable package it won't be raised as much as just a stand-alone app. I have it within my cable package.
Augen - all of HBO's original content is on there. So you can always rewatch GoT, Oz, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Westworld, Raised By Wolves, The Wire, etc. They also have quite a large amount of TV shows on there. Rick & Morty and BBT come to mind. Not sure if you have interest in those titles, but they are there and will stay there because it's HBO's material.
I think it's a great platform since I really do enjoy the majority of HBO's original programming. I don't even use HBO for it's "Home Box Office" and it's nice of them to be going back to their roots with big movie push.

There is also a LOT of DC content: the movies--live action and animated--and TV series like Titans and Doom Patrol. If you're a fan of DC, you really should subscribe.
And there are many other subcategories on the site:
Turner Classic Movies
Studio Ghibli
Cartoon Network
Adult Swim
etc.

I watch those on DC Universe, but that may be going defunct.

I literally couldn’t care less about the movies, but if they can save the Venture Brothers I’ll praise them.

Warner Bros. had to pay Patty Jenkins and Gal Gadot for them to support the simultaneous cinema and HBO Max streaming release of Wonder Woman 1984.
Stars and directors of the other movies included in the same release schedule got no such deal and they aren't happy: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/07/b...ovies-pay.html

I get why they aren't happy, but I also get why WB did it for Gal and Patty.
Let's be real, WW84 is probably the only 1bil+ blockbuster on their schedule for next year. Also it's the film on the list that is most likely to get a sequel that will also gross another 1bil+ so you want to keep that talent happy.
Other contenders are the Matrix 4 and possibly Dune, but they aren't sure bets.
