That's the one! I really wish they'd issue that as a Giclee. He's really nailed that underappreciated aspect of this character.

i really want a cool piece from him...but its pricey. Although his commissions go for $500 at the conventions, he does put alot of detail and heart into them...maybe someday...maybe...

Question

Thanks for the color everyone. I'm guessing there's a big price difference between published paintings and commissions right?

Not sure what Gabriele would charge for a genuine commission in comparison to a convention sketch/illustration. Commissions are completed by the artist in their own time and are usually finished pieces of high quality while con sketches are of lesser quality most often completed at the con.

I'd expect the published paintings to command a greater price than the commissioned pieces (depending on the detail of the commision) but who knows Best,

His convention pieces are amazing...they are as good as a original published piece...

hmmm..if sketches go for about $500 then $1000 doesn't seem unreasonable for a painting! i'm guessing those would go around $2K or more? don't Alex Ross pieces sell for even higher amounts??

Alex Ross originals can run from $2000 to $13,000, and even higher. Prelim sketches by Alex Ross are normally under a grand. You can see all that is for sale on his web site.

I just dig really hard on eBay and online to European shops. All of these I acquired in few months for a good price:
