Interesting. All of the other recent Star Wars busts were limited edition.

More resistant to breakage, lighter. As for detail retention, I wasn't sure if fiberglass was as good, but maybe it is. The life size Salacious Crumb was a combination of fiberglass and polystone.

Speaking for the Vader bust, it was made of fibreglass except for the portrait which was polystone.
Fiberglass is strong and is surprisingly good with detail ie. the Rhino Comiquette which is also fibreglass.

Not surprised by the price, but personally not willing to pay that for sideshow quality, so will wait for when one comes up on the secondary market eventually.
Regards fibreglass no bust is pure fibreglass you couldn't catch the detail with it. They have a thin resin shell which catches the details and that is backed by the fiberglass for strength. Pretty much all life size busts are done that way for cost effectiveness and weight vs strength. The only time you'll see different from that is if it's cast from translucent resin (like ecc use alot) but then the cost (and weight) goes up considerably. Even custom silicone busts can have fiberglass backing for strength.
