What are Transparents Paints?

Seen reference to them here. Who makes them and where do you get them? Thanks.

They are clear paint with a slight tint in them..

Here's what I use and they are widely available at hobby stores.

CB hit it right on the head. Transparent paints allow you to slowly build color as you go. They enable you to get some really cool effects. You can also try Lifetone, Golden, ComArt and FW inks. They are airbrush ready, but you can use them w/ a brush if you're careful.
