Lux ?terna (2019)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10272534/

Not for everyone. Imagine being on the set of a movie in the making where each individual has their own needs, expectations, input, with ego's playing a part. Things not working out, people on the brink of quitting. I guess that is what director Gaspar Noe was attempting, to take the viewer into the madness of it all!

My main issue was the run time. As the end credits rolled, i thought they were the end credits to a movie within a movie. But no, they were the actual end credits. Lux AEterna runs for 51 minutes. The final 10 minutes, maybe longer, consists of the screen flickering through the colors red green blue at high speed - presumably to convey the madness?

High Fidelity (2000) - Rob, a record store owner and compulsive list maker, recounts his top five breakups, including the one in progress.

I watched the TV series first which is the same story just extended over several episodes. Because it was relatively faithful in that way, what I liked and disliked were similar--annoying protagonist, but great music references. I give the slight edge to the movie for the plot being more compact. 7.5/10

Asteroid City (2023) - Following a writer on his world famous fictional play about a grieving father who travels with his tech-obsessed family to small rural Asteroid City to compete in a junior stargazing event, only to have his world view disrupted forever.

I've seen seven Wes Anderson movies and this one was the most Wes Anderson of them all. Very impressive cast. 7.5/10

I found myself smiling during this movie more than any movie in the last several years.

John Wick (2014)
6.8/10

I finally got around to watching John Wick..
Other than knowing what John Wick looked like, i knew nothing about the movie.
For some reason i assumed John Wick was set in the future, which it is not.

I quite liked John Wick. Lots of shooting, fighting, shooting, more shooting.
A bit of a no brainer, that's fun to watch.

Time to watch John Wick 2 (..and 3 and 4)
Quite how they follow up on the 1st movie remains a mystery, for me atleast. I'm in intrigued.
