Asteroid City (2023)
8/10 ..maybe higher?

This is the second time i have watched this.
This time around i watched the Blu-ray. To be honest, the DVD looks great, and the Blu-ray failed to offer much in the way of improved quality.

I like Asteroid City.

When the guy goes out for some 'fresh air' onto a small balcony..
..on the opposite balcony is Margot Robbie.
It makes sense to assume she decided to also get some air or maybe have a smoke, or both?
..she put in the work, her part was cut

I sensed sadness when the photographer looked out of his hut to the hut opposite,
only to see it was being cleaned. Scarlett Johansson had gone. Was the chemistry real? ..who knows?

Stage/Movie productions.. it comes with the territory, people coming, people going.

No doubt i will watch Asteroid City more, and more, and pick up on more.
At 1hr 40mins long, or there about, i wished it lasted longer.

I am still pondering:

Joker - 8.5/10

Odd, I didn't really like it much the first time I saw it. I think it was because I wasn't sure what kind of film it was going to be. I must have thought it somehow going to be in a similar vein
as The Dark Knight. This time, however, I saw it as a drama and was able to fully appreciate Phoenix's amazing performance in the role. Much MUCH better the second time around.

I enjoyed it for what it was. A goofy movie that doesn't take itself too seriously. Plus, I'm a big fan of Emily Blunt.

Hereditary (2018) - A grieving family is haunted by tragic and disturbing occurrences.

Watching this a second time, the similarities in themes with Midsommar, both directed by Ari Aster, are even more apparent. 8/10

Borderlands - took two sittings to get through, but it’s watchable. Maybe a 6/10. Effects were ok and actors were fine but writing was the weakest for both the overall story and dialogue. Probably about equal in quality to The Marvels which was another movie let down by poor writing.
