Mouldlife and ps composites are where i got mine from, both cost around £40 odd once shipping and vat is added but on the plus side is it a lot of clay and is reusable. They tend to sell out pretty quick when they have some in stock though

well, it is cheaper in that sense Growler. The expense comes when you work out the silicone and resin you'll need to make a one of a kind.

Would choose to work this way myself if money was no object. I find the Chavant Oil Clays and Waxes like Monster Clay easier .

Speaking of which, at Dauphines, Chavant is 5-70 per kilo so you can get six pounds of that for £17-10 plus postage. Another option for you there. http://www.dauphines.co.uk/p-mouldli...s-nsp-hard.htm

You are welcome man.

The hard chavant is better in one respect, not only in price but stands up to the summer temps better.

Last summer saw many a wax/ MC figure sweating and wilting but the chavant stayed in shape; just got more pliable.

I noted in my Conservatory at 42- 45 degrees, it was the most clay like. So that seems the optimum temp.

It also like MC, works nicely in a Clay gun when sufficiently warm. I have the Makins Professional one with a threaded winder. Available from GeorgeWeil aka The Polymer Clay Pit.

again, most welcome, happy to help you.... It's an easy clay to get along with.

Another good tool is one of those Chef's torches for crème brulee. Warms and melts clay nicely.

Alcohol Torch by Buffalo. good for tiny areas

Some brass 3mm tube and some paper clips- this way you can make your own rakes , as many as you want, cheaply and to your designs.

a cheap floor lamp or similar with a 100 w bulb, a metal or foil lined box to act as an oven to warm the clay. I just buy the foil roasting trays from Poundland.

an probably a couple of dental tools ad a couple of ball tools and that's you set to go.
