Lighting is everything with this statue I think. I really should look into investing in proper photography stuff besides our camera (which I can't find thanks to the recent move )

But then the Gantaku face is rather ----ing excellent too from this angle.

But from this angle it's not as good...

And i don't know what production is gonna be like for the Gantaku and it's 1/5....
I happen to like both angles on the Gantaku figure, since he looks the same. JMHO. But I'm really hoping that his sword & chain is made out of some sort of metal too

Usually the production piece never look the same as the proto. Crossing my fingers that it does or at least very close to it.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I've come to put an end to this.

Alucard 1:4 Twilight Edition 285/575 - First 4 Figures

Wow! Very impressed with this! When I first saw in-hand pics I was a bit worried and thought the Gantaku Alucard looked better but pics don't really do him justice, he has great presence! the clothing is especially well done. I love the shield and the more fancy sword and wish we could display them both at the same time. Bit of a missed opportunity here.
The base is nice, the cape is great, the hair is great... the eyes are just ok but nothing as bad as it seemed, at least to me. Also the art piece that came with it was totally unexpected and looks great! The pic doesn't do the colors justice at all.
I'm really loving the Castlevania line so far, they are some of my favorite statues.

Nice pictures Drakul. I picked up both the default and Twilight because I couldn't make up my mind. The TWL cape makes the statue and shield pop but the default cape is classic. Decisions, decisions...

Here they are in all their glory. Outside of a very few minor paint issues that I can easily take care of everything is fine. I'm very surprised by the default. The colors came out good. The portrait while not as nice as Gantaku's, it's miles better than Mondo's attempt. (stay far away from Mondo's) Lighting really will make the difference. Magnets are strong. Swords and chains are metal and the cape is very fragile. Metal chains are wrapped so they don't scratch the paint.

I figured I was going to just pick one and sell the other off but now I'm liking the default just as much as the TWL so I'll either display them both or switch between them yearly. Any questions or concerns by all means ask.
