$55,000 per MINUTE

"John Browne, the chief executive of BP, confirmed today that he would leave the giant oil company at the end of 2008, after reaching its mandatory retirement age of 60. At the same time, the company announced a profit of $7.27 billion in the second quarter, 30 percent more than the comparable period a year ago and the equivalent of more than $55,000 a minute."

You know...this makes me:

Sick,
Mad,
and feel really really stupid!

Why do we Americans put up with this sh!t?

Because like the rest of the world you're oil dependant.........

These F&^%rs keep putting up prices and we just roll over and accept it, why because we're to lazy to fight and tell oil companies what to with their oil

Because the government is in on it also. I may be wrong but either side says what people want to hear and behind the scenes its a free for all. Sure you have people that care in politics and they soon learn how things really work and change to that or get run off. Like scum-a-burton, Cheney made out like a bandit I'm sure on that and Georgey boy is an oil man. They can lie and cheat in plain site and its ok because there are plenty of excuses and reasons thrown out to cover. So its certainly maddening, sickening and the whole bit but not enough people yet have the voice to be heard and make something happen. Also, you can't get a boycott together, like no one buy gas for a week, the world still has to go around and they know that so they have us trapped and they pull the puppet strings. Maybe if more Americans voted than the pitiful percentage that actually does, we might be able to say something to them. But there is no one who will change anything. Fatcat sumbags...

our government is more pro-big business than pro-citizens. It has always been that way, unfortunately.

I was waiting at the bus stop one day, and this MASSIVE SUV came along. Of course, the driver was on the LEFT side. Why do a large majority of americans drive these massive suvs? Do they really think they are a fashion statement?

We have more people voting on American Idol than we have voting in the Presidential race. The fact is there are more morons that care about some TV show over the man or woman that will be a figured head for our country.

Indeed. I find it interesting that so many people vote one way to get "big government" off their backs, but then something like this happens and everyone runs crying to them: "why won't you do something???" You make your own bed, and you can lie in it.
