I've noticed that neither Prime 1's Leon and Claire, or PureArts Jill have any expression at all. But it does appear as though Prime 1's upcoming Jill has an alternate more expressive face, so that's something at least.

I don't see how that can be true if you look at Jill.




Even the second portrait conveys a lot more determination.
Claire and Leon are just blank....



And its definitely not true for Street Fighter and DMC statues.

Todd said his stock should be shipping in June sometime. I'll post pictures when I get her. They'll definitely look clearer/cleaner than what's been dropped here.

Judging from both Claire and Leons faces they didn't know what to go with. They obviously took inspiration from the back-to-back artwork in the rain, but that art had different faces in other promo art and what was also in-game. Leons face looks okay to me because he looks determined but it's as if they had 3 different versions of Claire to work with and chose the one below which was the wrong face for what's going on in the piece. I'm 100% positive that's what they were trying to go for and it just didn't translate well. It's just a case of the proto face already being questionable, and the factory couldn't come through.

As for the Capcom face issue, I don't buy it. Take one look at the DMC line and they nailed it. The expensive silicone Dante wasn't going to get made without some kind of face approval by Capcom at that price tag. Capcom also had a part in canning the cancelled F4F Zero because he looked like absolute crap along with whining from the community. F4F's had to go back to the drawing board and are now going to release a better one.

Yeah my b I was only referring to the RE license. It was Pure Arts that said it during one of their livestreams.

Man I just looked up their products and their RE statues are even more expressionless. Wow....why does Capcom want this?

Your guess is as good as mine. But for some reason Capcom told Pure Arts that this was the only face they were allowed to do. Which sucks cause Pure Arts probably new ahead of time that people would not dig the face but were left no other option but to show it off anyways. They got tons of criticism over it.

After that I think Pure Arts went ahead compiled all the feedback people left about the expressionless face and said they were going to show it to Capcom to hopefully persuade them into allowing them to make a more expressive portrait fitting to the scene. There hasn't been any news if they got approved or not.
