Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

Human Torch aka Matchstick according to Thing. Is one of the more real nicknames ala Elf, Slim and so forth.

The way I see it, a nickname is a nickname.. Vic, Ray, D*ck, Babs, Ollie; none of these are official names and/or titles, they're alternatives. That makes them nicknames by definition. Kiddie and affectionate are often the intention.
That said, these are all in reference to their civilian identities. Super-nicknames for these characters are harder to come by. Not many DC heroes have casual, frequently used nicknames for both personas. Mostly just (various) titles, which, in my opinion, is an entirely different ballpark.

So I've swayed from the original idea. I need comic book locations for Marvel and DC. Here is what I have so far, any other well known locations:
Negative Zone
Metropolis
Gotham City
Asgard
Savage Land
Central City
Latveria
Wakanda
Oa
Genosha
Coast City
Bludhaven
Keystone City
Apokolips
Microverse
Atlantis
Empire State University
Gamma Base
Knowhere
