is she really a princess?
Was watching star wars the other day, the real star wars not that crap that came out afterwards, and it came to me. Why is Leia still called princess. Once Tarkin had Alderon blown up she had no planet to be princess of. Am I right or am I thinking this out way too much.

She's the daughter of a former queen, so by definition ... yes.

She probably kept the title out of respect and honor to her dead people.
If it were real...

You're thinking waaaaaay too much, Tony!
It is her birthright, so technically she'd still be. In my book anyway, planet or no planet.

Yeah. But technically do to the bastardizing of 4tar wars ie the new trilogy, she's adopted. So doesn't have any royal blood in her.

She's the daughter of Amidala - Queen of Naboo. Therefore, she is a princess. Which I suppose technically makes Luke a Prince.

eh, Queen is an elected official on Naboo so i don't buy the royal blood line, and i don't believe the Organus were rulers of Alderan, but even still she technicly would be queen now since she's heir to the throne (which i suppose doesn't exist any more) and all the others in line are dead.

Yes, in two ways. She's the daughter of Queen Amidala, so there's one. BUT in order to hide her from Anakin, she was raised as a daughter of the Organas, and Bail Organa is the head of the royal family of Alderaan. So there's another.
She's true royalty from Amidala, but royalty in name from the Organas. Even if Alderaan is destroyed, the bloodline and the title still exist.
