I can't recall the last time so many factors affected such an accurate high profile/high end collectible of this caliber. Unlike Sideshow, these guys are still a young company. Sideshow pushes out high edition sizes like they are going out of style. eFX sees the market and the economy for what it is and reacts accordingly. It's refreshing to see some common sense from a high end collectibles company.
Indeed. One can only hope we see more of the same in the future.

I do feel bad for people who were hoping to bad it after the holidays, but I also understand the crunch that is placed upon eFX to not have a stockpile.
I see no reason as to why these wouldn't be available after the holidays. I'm sure retailers/dealers will have stock of these for a while. Though obviously this is dependent on the quantity they committed to.

similar priced as the MR Ywing was at time of its release.

Not sure what that was but I think 7-800 dollar?

Hi Josh,

You have to remember that the Y-Wing was released years ago. Since then manufacturing prices have skyrocketed. We would have loved to be able to offer this at a cheaper price because it would make it more attractive to more people. With the economy the way it is and the huge increase in manufacturing costs, we couldn't do it.

If MR was to release the Y-Wing now, the price would be much higher then it was back when it was for sale.

Well, considering inflation (like Amy mentioned) plus the signature, product accuracy, Luke pilot figure, shipping costs, working electronics, etc....the price seems fair to me. Especially more now that these will be sold to serious buyers that put a deposit down with little excess inventory out there from dealers.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

I would have been ok with this being right at 1000 if it meant no Luke, signature, lights, or movable parts. But included a base and cover.
