Talking molding casting and prepping for LED

Hey all,

I am going to mold a character which is supposed to have a light up insignia on the chest. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a tutorial or suggest how I should go about casting the body so that I can install the LED and battery compartment. Here are some of my concerns:

1. Do I have to rotocast the body to install the lights and electronics?

2. Can I make a solid cast and then drill a hole at the back of the torso to install the electronics? (The back is partially covered by the cape of the character)

Any suggestions on how I should approach the engineering for it, would be much appreciated

Thanks for your time!

Depends on the lights. Size is it self sustained powere or needs a wired power source? Im doing a project with alot of lights right now. I would rotocast so its hollow. Run your lighting inside the sculpt after everything is good pour resin back into the cavity so you have a solid piece and your wiring will never move but make sure the wiring cant take high tempts, most resin gets crazy hot.
