Her face actually looks sculpted instead of a print out.

That's why I say "probably". Exaggerated is game accurate (I'm ok with that), but I wouldn't say a realistic approach is bad either. May also be an attempt to head Prime 1 off at the pass. I'm sure their stuff will be more towards the realism end than any so far.

But... I do favor the realistic hands/feet approach for the ladies more than the men. With that in mind, how will all these 1:3 look together, with Jerry's being exaggerated, and the new artist's take being more realistic?

No computers.

They don't yet have enough blast processing and gigabizzles to handle Cammy's anatomy.

Well there 's only one other female and Chun-li's weren't as exaggerated.
It's even less aesthetically pleasing on females since large feet and hands are a more masculine trait.

As far as accuracy there are 3 things at play.
1.Games were 2D art AND always in motion not static like a statue or print.

2. As Joppula has pointed out before different frames and animations in the games emphasize different body parts for prominence

3.Lots of official promotional art switches back and forth with the proportions. There is no "standard" other than the memories of our own minds.

4. Jerry's were especially emphasized especially on the 1/3s.
I think the hands/feet could still be done larger keeping true to the game just not as much. In SF Alpha Ryu's head is smaller compared to their larger bodies. On the 1/3 his head is larger.
Specific partial proportions are hard within the same statue or even between statues.

Personally I don't like the sculpt of Ryu 1/3. I like the printed portraits and the finish. The factory paint, textures, skin tones and weathered gi/pants are what make it outstanding for me. For me the proportions of a statue are the most crucial and I like Ryu's 1/4 revisit far more in that regard.
I thought the same when purchased at the time of PO way before any Macaluso shenanigans were evident.

It should take some moments to realize "this guy's hands are massive"
Sagat 1/3's hand clutching is scar is ridiculous and I can't stand the sculpt of 1/3 Chun-Li. If I ever end up owning her it will be because of how good the faces look and the exquisite costuming following Capcom's design. The change needed to happen at some point especially if Macaluso wasn't going to keep selling these as his "passion projects".

Upon seeing my Ryu 1/3 every person's first response, without exception, is the same. Not how realistic, not how well done, not how well painted, not how much space it takes, not even ahh Ryu or what is this from, but ... "he sure has big feet".
Every single time. Subtlety is key.

I like cammy with "normal" proportions... this is definitely a good start. Tone down the breast size, she's athletic not a double D power house. Should be at most a C cup. Also please don't give her high heels, she wears military boots....

This is the control art. I think sculptor is just working to get the heels of the boots.

That sculpt needs some major work still, imo.

This is 'Street Fighter', not 'Real People Fighter'.

Well as it says in the original quote, this is very early and a ways to go yet.
