Kobes the man!!! Aint nobody scored 50 points for in a row for 3 games or more since Jordan in 86-87 , before him it was Elgin, then Wilt obviously as the king of the 50 pt games: Bottom line is you can make a case for MVP for Kobe ,Dirk, Lebron or Nash. But no way is Kobe any less important to the Lakers as dirk or nash.

Bobe scoring 50 points or more in four games in a row is a DIRECT result of Phil Jackson telling the team to keep feeding the ball to Kobe.

Phil is trying to make a case that the officials have it out for KObe, and in making sure he puts up such great numbers after publically blasting the officials, he is trying to show how "great" Kobe can be when not being harassed by the officials.

PURE B.S.

Phil Jackson shoudl be ashamed of himself, and Kobe is nothing but a glory seeking ball hog.

Remember when being an ASSISTS leader meant something in the NBA????

last I checked, the best assist guy (Nash) has won the last 2 MVP awards and might win #3 this year ... I think it still means something

Kobe scores a lot of points but is not a team player... so I dont think he deserves to be MVP...

But in all honesty what is Nash known for? (In regards to his style of play?)

Thats my point.

When you think of Nash, you dont think "assist guy" right off the top of your head. He is more of a well rounded player. (And a deserving MVP)

Nash = Vision, leadership, Assists, team player....

Kobe = scoring..............thats about it (NOT MVP worthy IMO)

The emphasis on SCORING in the league, as well as the dynamics in place regarding endorsement deals, contract bonuses, etc...are CREATING more ball hogs than true well rounded players.

I'd take a player that gives me 25-30 points a game and dishes out 20 assists ANY day (but who wouldnt, right? lol)

I think it's great that Kobe hasn't got close to getting another ring since he forced Shaq out. Karma came around pretty quick for that.
