"aging" a sculpt??
Just getting ready to finish up a commissioned piece based on this

I'd like to make it look aged to keep in line with the retro theme. Can anyone throw me some tips on how to accomplish this look? I'd appreciate it.

I apologize, but I am unsure of what you mean by "aging". Can you explain more clearly what you are trying to do?

yeah, weathered would be a more appropriate term. Sorry for the confusion. Kind of like how they dip paper in tea to "age" it. That's the only example I can really think of.

Hmmmmmm....well, my suggestion would be to basecoat the sculpture in a color that you want to represent (say maybe an ivory tone) and stain/glaze the piece in a dark warm brown (brush on/wipe off). Allow to dry and seal it.

sounds good. I was thinking that but this will be my first painted piece and didn't want to mess it up. thanks for the input.
