Anyways...now a front-line security member for one of the wealthiest families up here in Ontario. If only they'd share that wealth

I can't help but think your forum name is a bit suspect now after hearing what your profession is.

I went to a general store. They wouldn't let me buy anything specifically.

Wow, the diversity in jobs here is pretty incredible. Pretty cool that people of all walks of life can find interest in the same hobbies.

I can update my status - as of August, I am officially retired from the legal profession. We moved from NYC area to Charlotte but before that this past March my doctors said enough is enough and "poof" no more work for me. I now have assumed the duties of a very very well educated chauffeur for 3 kids.

I was the chief marketing officer for a massive financial services firm in Denver. Then after helping to lead an M&A effort to acquire another company, we ended up merging with that company plus one other and got a new CEO who decided to eliminate my position. So, after helping to make the whole merger thing happen I'm now unemployed.
---- me.

That fricking sucks. Sorry to hear about it. And the way it occurred is just awful. Hopefully you bounce right back and find something you love.

Wow! That's super lame. So much for company loyalty.
Had this happen to a friend a few years back too. He'd been with the company over 20 yrs, right out of high school. You'd think when a position gets eliminated they'd make an effort to find something else within a company.
