I would love a Ryu in fighting pose, yay!
Standing around is fine but variety is always good.

Much better for the ego to put your own signature on things than take a beloved pose that most of us have seen thousands of times and just make it 3D, which I personally would kill to own.

That pretty much sums up the controversy I think, and also would seem to be stating there is big demand for a line that fans would surely love, a line that features characters in iconic poses exactly as they were done in the games.

one less person to fight over on pre-order day. Yay
copy-cat? . you know PCS is not the first company to make 18 inch mix media right? They just used different name. Sideshow calls it Premium Format. Traid Toys calls it Mix Format. So, you must not like PCS then I hope you realize that that a lot of the products you buy copy from each other...

I think you guys are reading something into the sota announcement that isn't there
This isn't a new line but a one off ryu piece to celebrate 10th Anniversary

You heard it right, folks. SOTA is turning 10 years old this year! To celebrate, we're producing an 18" (1/4 scale) Ryu figure, super high quality and mixed media! I suppose you can call it a premium format figure. This will really be something exclusive, as we're planning a very low edition size.

where does it mention start of new line?

Think maybe peoplea are just inferring it from this quote by Sota...
"We certainly do. If Ryu generates enough interest, we might consider pursuing other characters. But for now, it'll be just him."

I hope what they announce is 1/4 scale SNK license to all of their property from Fatal Fury to King of Fighters all the way down to Samurai Showdown. I'd freakin go to their studios and personally make it rain.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

I don't personally have anything to add to this thread. But I found this funny enough that I felt the need to give you props.

I know that dude, but why another Ryu, why not SNK character...?
SOTA just want to surf on the PCS popularity, that's all, IMO.
