This seems to be a continuous question after every pre order so maybe this will help out a bit.
what is an artist proof?
An artist proof is a limited run of statues (usually 10-20 pieces) that is in addition to the standard run of statues.
How do I score an artist proof
The artist proof statues go to the first 10-20 people that secure their order. This is determined by your PayPal time stamp.
Orders placed before the actual start time listed, usually 3pm Pacific on the dot, while valid, are not qualified for artist proof statues, so be careful exactly when you click the purchase button.
What is the difference between an artist proof and a numbered edition?
The quality is the same as the numbered edition, as they are part of the same run, the difference is the artist proofs have a/p on the base and the certificate of authenticity, and Jerry personally autographs the base.
How will I know if i score an artist proof statue?
You will receive an email from pop culture shock congratulating you on your score. This email is not instantaneous, it comes after Jerry has the time to sort through the time stamps on his end, usually only takes a few days at most.
What is a good time stamp to have a shot at the coveted artist proof?
People are really fast, these are usually gone in less than 20 seconds on smooth orders, so come early and bring your A game if you want a good shot
Warehouse gems program
Further note, leftover statues that are sold through warehouse gems program are given the artist proof label as well. These are replacement pieces that were not needed. Also pieces given to licensors have the ap label I believe.
As with all pop culture shock orders right now, your PayPal receipt is your confirmation. You will not receive a separate email from pcs. This may be subject to change when the new pcs site is up and running with the order dashboard, we'll find that out in future.
Hope this helps answer some ?'s around these. If I missed anything let me know and I'll edit it in.
