As an aside what a shame that we don't have XM doing all 5 Dinobots. All of the Dinobots are so awesome looking. Even the superb original G1 toys can't get reissues!

I was so excited a few years ago when PCS said they were doing all 5 Dinobots to go with Devastator. Then they cancelled the line. I wonder if they will revisit that decision now they are doing TFs again.

ok just dug through my boxes and found it. was going to post picture of it here but it doesn't allow unless its on the web. don't have any web hosting. anyways looks like it was made from 4k but is itself only 1080.
here is the quite on it: AS NEVER SEEN BEFORE: REMASTERED FROM A NEW 4K TRANSFER.
looking on back it says 1080p though. Slippery marketing. so they did a 4k version and downgraded it for the actual release if I am understanding it right. probably so they could do the actual 4k release later to charge again. I don't have a 4k tv anyways so no big deal to me but still...

Haven't had a chance to watch it yet! Crawling around attic fiberglass last few days. Running a cat6 up to game room, installing new metal mesh to keep critters out gable vent...fun stuff.
I loved the Dinobots. I had Slag. Brothers had Grimlock and Snarl. But even back then, transforming dinosaurs didn't make as much sense to me as cars and planes. And I have very little memory of them in bot form - my preferred form for a statue.

You probably have this one:
which IS the 35th Anniversary edition - but it's JUST the 1080 Bluray disc TWO from my set. No actual 4K disc in that one, as you point out.
The image of Rodimus is the same, but otherwise, different artwork collage. No steelbook.

I imagine some scenes the HDR could really pop.
I loved how they did the Dinobots as imitating found evidence of organic lifeforms. And their bot forms were some of the best. Very aesthetically strong looking.

I actually have the steelbook. cover is different than that and I think its 30th anniversary.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
says its from a 4k transfer....but it appears as though its just 1080 from a 4k. different cover than one you show also.

Ok, so I was right, on the previous page, in post #112.
But, I got to the bottom of the '4K issue'. Check out this review of the 30th Anniversary disc that you have:
https://bluray.highdefdigest.com/347...sthemovie.html
In the 'video' section, they mention that apparently this was the first attempt at a 4K transfer...but it had issues.
It was probably better than all prior releases at that point, but they went back and did ANOTHER 4K transfer for the 35th Anniversary, that gets much better reviews. BUT, as I said, they only give you the widescreen 4K, but not full frame 4K. My guess continues to be that the 40th will give us that.

Well put, but they (bot) were underutilized, so I have little nostalgia for them.
