I would bet the percentage of detolf that break is Significanly lower than the percentage of damaged/mispainted statues from ANY of the major statue manufacturers.

Moral of the story: collect detolfs, not statues.

I was under the impression that Detolfs were good, but I guess I was mistaken.

I've built three Detolfs so far and that's crazy. At the moment I'm hedging my bets and putting even remotely heavy stuff on the very bottom wooden base, and there's only light stuff on the shelves above.

I have had 6 Detolf's for several years and have moved 5 times. I even left them fully assembled, minus the shelves of course, in the back of a U-Haul for an Austin to Tulsa move and not a single issue. I believe all of the issues reported are from over tightening the main screws. If they were truly as bad as a couple reports make out none of us on here would use them anymore.

You're brave. Every time I've had to move more than an hour away, I've just sold/donated anything with glass.

Here is a pic Barbarian took of a single detolf glass shelf to show how strong they are.

But of course use your own discretion, if you are worried about a failure on a detolf shelf then buy stronger units.

The shelves are known for being able to take more weight than they are supposed to. It's either the doors or side panels that tend to shatter.

Well if a detolf can support that much weight, I feel fine stacking bestas on top of each other. Thanks for the pics
