That's actually why I don't mind it.
when you look at the 360ยบ of the Queen, the elaborate design motifs don't feel like an over affectation because the figure itself employs some subtractive design elements. It balances out.
I like that the base on the Infinity feels more like an extension of her than a distinctly separate serving tray her bifurcated trunk is planted on.
I can almost imagine she broke up through the surface of whatever it is she's being displayed on.
But I'm not going to say one's right and one's wrong.
I fully realize it's a YMMV thing.
I do think each base is appropriate to the approach taken in realizing the accompanying bust.
The main thing I'm concerned about with both is the "let's make as many as we possibly can" sensibility.
It's not that capping the ES so each piece feels more exclusive and ups the perception of value (though that is a nice quality)- it's that the larger the edition size becomes, the sloppier I can see QC and standards for QC getting. Shank a few? No biggie. There's plenty more coming down the pipe.
At these prices, I want to see each piece given as much TLC as possible, not just stuck on the assembly line and pushed through as quickly as possible because there are 200 more waiting in line.
