Damn, that John Byrne art is a thrill to see. When will a company wise up and finally do a 1/4 Byrne X-MEN line?

Ooh would be nice if that added a touch of pink/purple in the flames

Definitely agree about losing the zipper. And perhaps reducing the amount of stitchings.
She is...trust me on that. Not toothpick thin...but she is not Ms. Marvel hippy.

and like you said we need john byrne portrait
It seems like XM will always take the liberty of adding some form of a modern element to their character designs, which I believe is why they have been so successful.

I don't ever see them doing a 100% comic accurate representation, nor do I want them to.

XM has said that it's not a zipper, but instead a "sew line". I mentioned that the piece on the neck makes it look like a zipper -- and either way, a cosmic god does not sew. Tis' beneath their status of molecular manipulator.

So they may tweek it to not look stitched together and just one smooth piece.

Really, not a zipper? What is that thing under her neck, at the top of the collar supposed to be then? Looks like a zipper handle to me. The seam line running down your torso looks different from the seams lines along her rib cage. It's more of a double seam line similar to a zipper.

Despite the "zipper" I actually like the outfit design and would buy this if I could.

ITA, I'm just repeating what they said to my FB comment. I thought it looked EXACTLY like a zipper, too. Still do, but we shall see.

Either way, this alteration of costume is better than the boots on Storm because it's subtle.

I hope so, Loric. Jean is no slouch. You know she needs to look good.

I think this piece looks phenomenal so far! Based on the pic alone, I think this has the potential to be the best female portrait XM has done.
