Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

The product description on BBTS gives a bit of backstory behind the pose. I suppose it helps put it into context.

"...The smoke and dust of debris swirls in the air as she slowly gets to her feet. Standing tall and defiantly, armed with her Lasso of Truth, her golden tiara and indestructible bracelets, Princess Diana of Themyscira reaches for her sword and makes her way amidst the rubble to once more face her foe!"

Anyway, I think she's gorgeous overall so ordered.

A statue that depicts Wonder Woman getting up....eh. I'd rather not picture her going down. I want to see her victorious. It is definitely something new. She might look better posed by some of the other pieces...

So much have been said about the pose but I think each to his own when it comes to this statue and for me...

The first time I saw her pose...I somewhat knew the direction of the piece. It was a captured moment. A movement that will eventually end with a heavy blow using the sword in the ground and yet there is still a strong sense of elegance and beauty.

There can be a thousand ways of doing this but I feel the art direction got it right. More than anything it showed the beauty of the Amazon princess...the most beautiful face in statue form before Lynda Carter's. The body and color are in a classical way true to the character's origin and form...not overtly mascular, near masculine and alienating (New 52 costume) but feminine with a quiet sense of inner strength and spirit.

I am glad I waited long enough to have the opportunity to get a Wonder Woman that I dreamed of.

:-)
